Since then SIAS has grown to a membership of nearly 70,000 members and has advanced the cause of minority shareholder’s rights and championing corporate governance.

With a unique, ‘in the boardroom and not the court room’ approach to managing disputes and maintaining the investor relations peace in Singapore, SIAS has, under his leadership, successfully resolved several shareholder issues, which are all well documented.

“I am humbled by this award and am pleased that the work I have done at SIAS is recognized by an ASEAN partner. I hope our work will encourage responsible shareholder activism in ASEAN to push for better corporate governance,” David Gerald, President and CEO, SIAS.
