SIAS has conferred Mr Hsieh Fu Hua the Distinguished Honorary Member

SIAS is pleased to announce that Mr Hsieh Fu Hua, former CEO of Singapore Exchange Ltd., has kindly accepted SIAS’ invitation to be its Distinguished Honorary Member. Mr Hsieh now joins three other Distinguished Honorary Members – Mr JY Pillay, Mr Lim Chee Onn, and Mr Liew Mun Leong.

SIAS has conferred Mr Hsieh Fu Hua the Distinguished Honorary Member status in recognition of his continued support since leaving SGX by way of advice and guidance.

His appointment is by virtue of clause 4.2 of SIAS constitution which reads:

“The Management Committee may invite persons distinguished in public life or who have made significant contributions to the Securities Industry or to the Association to be Honorary Members for such period as it shall deem fit. An Honorary Member shall not be required to pay any entrance fee or monthly subscription but shall be entitled to enjoy all the facilities of the Association. An Honorary Member shall not have the right to vote or hold office as a member of the Management Committee”

“Distinguished Honorary Members play an important role for SIAS, besides being supporters of the cause of retail investors in Singapore, they also assist SIAS by providing advice and guidance ensuring relevance in today’s market environment,” David Gerald, President and CEO, SIAS.

Mr Hsieh Fu Hua believes in the cause of the small investors and has supported SIAS since his appointment as CEO of SGX and has continued to be closely associated with SIAS in an informal way as an advisor and guide to the President and the Committee of SIAS. He has shown a key interest in the activities of SIAS, especially in investor education. Mr Hsieh said: “It is an honour to be conferred with SIAS Distinguished Honorary Member title. I strongly believe in sound investor education and I am pleased that SIAS has been promoting this effort. I am happy to assist SIAS in this cause.”
