FOR CHAMPIONING INDIVIDUAL INVESTORS’ INTERESTS
David Gerald founded SIAS in 1999 to seek a resolution for investors who had invested in CLOB and provided leadership during a trying period. Today, SIAS is the largest organised investor lobby group in Asia with almost 70,000 members. As the voice of retail investors and minority shareholders in Singapore, SIAS actively champions investor rights and is a frequent advocate for corporate governance and greater transparency. David Gerald has been a strong proponent of investor education, which underpins many of SIAS’ initiatives in furthering the interests of the retail investor. SGX has also been working with SIAS on initiatives to empower individual investors, who remain a key constituent of the marketplace.
